How should I price my course?

Last Updated: Aug 26, 2016 07:14PM EDT

We have found that setting course prices in whole dollars ending in 5 or 0 gives students the best sense of trust, quality and value. For example $995 evokes more feelings of trust, quality and value than $999. The same is true for either $50 or $45 instead of $49. Course prices must be in whole dollars and can not include cents, so for example $95 instead of $94.99

Determining your course pricing depends on which type of course you are building. See below for more information on pricing for each course type.

HeatSpring offers rolling discount codes on the course sales pages as a lead collection device. Discounts will be offered between 0%-20% off the list price at any given time, with the average discount being 20% off.

Try not to overthink the first price you choose. Set a price about 20% higher than you may feel comfortable with to make room for discounting. Then we can easily adjust pricing up or down as we go based on student feedback and demand.

Short Course Pricing

All short courses have a list price of either $0 (free), $30, $35, $40, $45, or $50. We will help you pick the best list price based on how other similar offerings are already priced on the site.

Premium Multi-Week Course Pricing

Our premium courses are typically priced between $995-$2,495 per student for an average 8-week course. Typically pricing is determined by multiplying the number of weeks by $100-$300 per week.
