Use our new tool to read more about each of these credentials, as well as to find the hours requirements and courses for any NABCEP credential in 3 simple steps.

NABCEP PV Associate Exam

After completing our Solar PV Boot Camp + NABCEP PV Associate Exam Prep course, you are eligible to sit for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam. There is a $150 exam fee due along with your application to NABCEP. You will submit those to us in an assignment at the end of the course. Then, we will submit them to NABCEP on your behalf and verify that you have completed the course. You can then schedule to take your exam at any Scantron Testing Center worldwide.

NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Certification Exam

In order to sit for the NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Certification exam, a candidate must first complete 58 hours of Advanced PV training before the application deadline. At least 40 of those hours must be with a NABCEP Accredited Provider like HeatSpring. We offer two courses, which, when taken together, fulfill the full 58-hour training requirement. HeatSpring is an Accredited NABCEP Provider, and both courses cover advanced solar PV installation and design principles and practices addressed in the NABCEP PV Installer Job Task Analysis (JTA).

*18 Hours for Solar PV Boot Camp + NABCEP PV Associate Exam Prep are only valid if candidate completes the course and earns passing score on the NABCEP PV Associate Exam.

Also note that there are additional requirements for candidates to qualify for the NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification, including required work experience on solar projects and completing 10 hours of OSHA training.

After all requirements are fulfilled, candidates apply directly on NABCEP's website. The NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification exam can now be taken as a computer-based test. You can find out more information by viewing our NABCEP PV Installation Professional Exam Calendar.
