How to use markdown to format your discussion board posts

Markdown Basics

Want to format your posts on the discussion board? You can make bulleted lists, number lists, bold, italics, links or embed images in your posts using markdown.

Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, which then converts to valid HTML for viewing on HeatSpring.

Markdown is totally optional and only necessary if you want special formatting applied to your message.

Most Used Examples

The two most commonly used Markdown features on the discussion board are are:

  1. Hitting the 'enter' key creates a new line space in your message.
  2. Pasting a full url 'autolinks' it as a clickable hotlink.
